Slab climbing is the most diagnostic terrain because it removes the ability to hide bad footwork behind upper-body strength. If you can climb slab, you can climb anything.
The lesson here is about reading the wall — looking for the discoloration that means a usable smear, the slight change in angle that gives you a heel rest, the crystal that’s better than the chip next to it. Spend ten minutes looking before you start climbing. Look from below. Look from the side.
